You need to enable SMTP Authentication first. Note: If you can't set up email with SMTP, your account's SMTP Authentication might be disabled. You'll see the POP, IMAP and SMTP settings for Microsoft 365.
Use your Microsoft 365 email address and password (your GoDaddy username and password won't work here). Use your Port number (IMAP or POP) for incoming mail and your SMTP for outgoing mail. However, some email clients don't support Exchange, so you'll need to use your server settings to manually set up email. We recommend using Exchange settings with your Microsoft 365 account. We recommend updating your account to use Exchange settings (it might be listed as Office 365 or Microsoft 365, depending on your email client). Basic authentication is an outdated industry standard that'll be deprecated. Go to your Email & Office Dashboard and check if your account is listed under Users. If there was an issue with billing or if your account was deleted, it will no longer receive mail. Check that your email is still activeĬheck that your Microsoft 365 account is still active. If your domain is with another company, contact them for help updating your MX records, or transfer your domain to GoDaddy.
If there’s an issue with your DNS, update your MX records.
If your storage is full, free up more space by selecting the button to empty contents of a folder or upgrade your plan to one with more storage.
Make sure your storage isn't too full to receive new email.
Check if mail is going to spam or junk folders Try contacting the sender to see if the email address was correctly spelled and if they received a bounce back or error message. Check if emails are being sent to the right address Check that your internet connection is working properly. Check your internet connectionĬonnectivity issues may stop you from seeing or receiving email. If you see new messages online but not on your client, try setting up email on your client again. Sign in to Outlook on the web to see if new messages are in your inbox. You might be receiving email but not on the client (like Gmail or Mac Mail) you have installed.
